225 sq ft — modern standard DHA, Bahria, most post-partition housing schemes, and all recent development. Use this if you are unsure. 272.25 sq ft — legacy standard Older intra-city areas, inherited revenue records, and some pre-1947 settlements. Also written as 30¼ sq yd.

1 Kanal = 20 Marla under either standard — so a Kanal is either 4,500 or 5,445 sq ft.
